Configure External Client Apps

The user ends up with an External Client App or connected app whose OAuth scopes, callback URLs and access policies are set and checked, so another tool can connect to Salesforce. When a connection fails, MeshMesh helps find out why.

How MeshMesh does it

  1. Checks whether a suitable app already exists and whether it carries the OAuth scopes the work needs.
  2. Delivers a plan for retrieving the credentials and the ways to connect, leaving the key retrieval to the user.
  3. When a connection fails with an OAuth error, diagnoses it and writes a phased fix plan. It backs up the app metadata, sets a single callback URL, adds the refresh token scope and disables unused flows. It then deploys the changes and retests through the standard CLI.
  4. Traces errors that remain after the fix, such as a login not started from the connection dialog.
  5. For a redirect URI mismatch, reconfigures the app as a public client.
