Configure Compact Layouts
Choose which fields show in a record's highlights panel, then build or update the compact layout, assign it and deploy it, so the header shows the right detail at a glance.
Method
How MeshMesh does it
- Reads which fields the user wants in the header or wants removed from it. In one case these were contact and source fields on a Lead highlights panel in a demo org.
- Builds or updates the compact layout and deploys it to the org.
- Works around how Person Account compact layouts are retrieved and assigned in metadata.
- Checks the record page in the browser to confirm the header renders.
- Adjusts fields after the user reviews them, for example removing a field that duplicated another, then redeploys.
- In broader investigations, finds a root cause and fixes it. In one case the mobile app showed system-default quick actions because the Account page layout was missing its action list; MeshMesh added it, deployed it and changed the compact layout fields, leaving the user to clear the mobile app cache.
