Integrate File Sources Into Data 360
Get CSV and other file-based data from cloud storage or a file upload into Data 360 through file and storage data streams, ready for the data model or for search. In this evidence, the work often stops before the data is loaded or mapped, and PDFs cannot go through a file data stream at all.
Method
How MeshMesh does it
- Opens the New Data Stream wizard, finds the File Upload option and checks which data model objects already exist.
- Selects the storage connection and confirms it is active.
- Checks which file types a file data stream accepts. When the request is for PDFs, it reports that only CSV and Parquet are supported and builds no stream.
- Exports records from the CRM, reshapes the CSV and uploads it through a Data 360 file stream.
- Starts mapping the loaded data to a data model object. In that task the mapping was not finished.
- When blocked, offers alternatives such as Data Library, a CSV extract or a ContentVersion upload.
