Configure Agent Record Page Context

This capability makes an agent aware of the record a user is viewing, so it can act on that record without being told which one. It covers wiring the page's record into the agent, and patching the agent's script when it does not pick up the record on its own.

Method

How MeshMesh does it

  1. Builds or updates the agent itself. In one task this was an Employee Agent in Agent Script, published, with access granted through permission set metadata. In another it was an employee agent with supporting flows, alongside a branded Lightning app and a Contact record page.
  2. Wires the page's record into the agent with mutable variables set to External visibility.
  3. When the agent does not detect the record from page context, patches the Agent Script with currentRecordId logic.
  4. Deploys the bot metadata that carries the context variables. In one task this failed repeatedly on element ordering, an invalid object reference and an active bot version.
  5. Publishes a new agent version. It delivers a testing guide and deployment notes, and leaves activation to an admin.

When the agent still does not pick up the record, the next step is Diagnose Agentforce Record Context Issues.
