Build Console Utility Components

Users get Lightning Web Components that run in a Service Console utility bar, in the background, or on console record pages. Examples include a utility bar shortcut to an Experience Cloud site, a headless component that opens a call's Case as a subtab, and the components for a call center demo.

How MeshMesh does it

  1. Looks at the org before building, such as an existing async Case-creation flow and the console structure.
  2. Tries standard components first. When they fail to deploy, it builds a custom LWC instead, such as one that opens an Experience Cloud site.
  3. For larger builds, adds the supporting custom fields, Apex controllers and Knowledge articles.
  4. Creates the LWC meta file, deploys the component and wires it into the app. For example, it updates the FlexiPage so the utility bar uses it.
  5. Verifies behavior on real records. In one case it checked a live Voice Call and its Case in production.

For broader component work, see Build Custom LWC Components.
