Configure Semantic Data Models
A user gets a working semantic data model on Data 360 objects, with relationships, calculated fields, metrics and often a dashboard on top, ready for analytics or a demo.
Method
How MeshMesh does it
- Creates sample or demo data and the related org setup.
- Builds the semantic model: relationships, calculated fields and metrics.
- Defines metrics on the model. When the metric endpoint rejected a patch call, it switched to a put call.
- Fixes broken relationships by adding explicit join criteria through put requests, then checks that every relationship has its criteria filled in.
- Extends the model for new visuals, such as adding billing latitude and longitude dimensions for a map, while keeping existing measures, then triggers a data stream refresh.
- Creates visualizations and a dashboard in Tableau Next through the REST APIs. The sample that shows this is paused, and its outcome records nothing built.
