Configure Custom Fields
Add custom fields to standard objects, give users access to them, and deploy them so they appear on records and list views.
Method
How MeshMesh does it
- Writes an implementation plan for the user to approve before it changes anything.
- Checks what already exists before building. In one case Close Date was already on Opportunity and already in the list view.
- Creates the custom fields with their defaults, for example an unchecked Checkbox on Case or a revenue and a due-date field on Opportunity.
- Deploys the fields to the org and updates list views to show them.
- Creates a permission set with read and edit access to the object and the new field, and verifies it in the org.
- Adds related actions to record pages when asked, such as the Add to Cadence button on the Lead record page.
