Automate Bulk Record Updates
Update, rename, create or close many records at once with CSV files and the Bulk API, without editing each record by hand.
Method
How MeshMesh does it
- Finds the records and objects in scope. In one case it found every object with a Business Unit picklist backed by a global value set.
- Deploys field-level security when the target field is not visible or writable.
- Runs the update across the records involved, often through Bulk API 2.0. This covered thousands of records across many objects in one case and a full set of Campaign renames in another.
- Verifies the result by re-querying. It confirms that no old values remain and that the updated records exist.
- Reports what changed, for example a summary with before and after names.
