Pixels & Protocol | RSTLSS, FuelSDK, & Remote Control Updates
Hey, hey, what's up? This is David DeVore and I've got Bob Ullery here. This is Pixels and Protocol, and we're just sort of taking the stuff that we're working on at Props and Mesh Mesh and breaking it down for the week, talking about things that we're excited about and that we're working on. It is Sunday morning, so seems like a good time to wake up, drink some coffee, look back at what we're what we've been doing and maybe look forward a little into what's coming.
So, the first thing on deck is that we've been working with Restless, who just launched their creator portal, a user-generated content (UGC) creator portal, and it's awesome. We've been deeply involved with them on this portal, and I want to take a moment to acknowledge its launch.
Restless intersects between gaming and fashion, blending those two worlds. People can now create their own game assets, partly for aesthetic reasons and partly for commerce. There are millions, not billions, of creators on the planet who could potentially use this tool to deploy their creativity and be rewarded for their work. This model will look a lot different in a few years. We believe the next billion content creators will change the landscape, and this UGC portal is an extension of that concept.
This is actually the second version of the Restless UGC portal. It allows creators to create and customize foundational wearables and deploy these assets to the market. Users can apply glyphs, which are pieces of artwork, to garments like puffer jackets, hoodies, and pants, customizing them to their preference and then submit for approval. Once approved, creators can deploy these as tokens in the broader Restless collection.
On the Web3 side, it uses an ERC 1155 contract to replicate a more traditional commerce model where one token can be sold multiple times. The setup also supports dynamic royalties, rewarding creators for market sales.
There is ongoing work on a new iteration that envisions assets across 80 different EVM chains, leveraging a cross-chain bridge protocol like Layer Zero. This gives autonomy for assets to be portable across chains. Restless is also considering next-generation functionality like multi-asset, equipable, and nestable elements, providing a hierarchy of value dissemination across creators involved in an asset.
Another subject we're excited about is the SDK we've been working on for the Fuel network. It's elegant and fast, offering an incentive layer for builders, allowing them to control fees for themselves, creating opportunities for affiliates, tipping, and revenue splitting. We're looking forward to getting builders on board soon and seeing what gets built with it.
We recently wrapped up a contest with Super Chief with our platform remote control, which offers open calls for creators to showcase their art. It's about creating opportunities for continuous engagement. Our technical level enhancement, such as batch mint, simplifies collecting art by allowing users to acquire a curated collection with a single transaction.
In the new world of brand marketing, there's a shift towards engagement with younger generations through gamification, 3D, motion art, and user-generated content. Remote Control offers a wealth of creative art that can be pitched to brands. In an initiative we call the Creative Brief, we plan to put together lookbooks of winning art to pitch to brands, bridging the gap between cool content and brands looking to stay relevant.
As for discovery, we're exploring vector databases to enhance the way art is found on our platform. Instead of relying only on tags, we want to vectorize the art with AI, generating a vector or a matrix that represents the aesthetic similarity of art pieces, making discovery more intuitive and expansive.
We're also actively pursuing grants and initiative opportunities, constantly on the lookout for new challenges and areas to build within the web3 space. If anyone knows of compelling grants or opportunities, we encourage them to reach out.
With an eye on upcoming events end of year, like the crypto AI crypto summit in Seoul, ETH Miami, Bitcoin Amsterdam, and Art Basel Miami, we're strategizing about sponsorships and presence. We also offer to collaborate on hackathons and other events that fit within our scope of work.
We've been busy with lots of behind-the-scenes work and future planning. If anyone's interested in what we're doing or knows of opportunities we should check out, don't hesitate to contact us. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and thanks for listening in on our conversation about these exciting developments.
